Karl, Cathy Mason & The Masons Yorkshire Gin Team.
Bedale Spirit and ‘The Big Clean Up’ Commences!
Wow, what an exciting week last week was, not only for the team, but Bedale as a whole! You may have heard already that the Tour De Yorkshire passed through the town centre on Friday.. Luckily the new location of our offices were absolutely perfect for spectating, so the whole team really got involved with the event! You may have also spotted Luke and Steph who were running the Masons gin bar, serving our award-winning G&T’s! It was a fantastic opportunity for myself, Cathy and the team to talk to customers since the event (and of course test the gin was up to scratch).
We were also incredibly proud to create two special edition bottles of our gin for the female and male stage two winners. Regardless of recent events, we desperately wanted to be involved with the Tour De Yorkshire and give back to the local community, who have been so amazing during our time of need.
On Friday we were also finally ready to share a very special video, that our team had been working on for over 3 months. We had created the video to give people an insight into what it was like at the Masons Distillery and how our gin was lovingly handcrafted. Unfortunately, we were due to share the video at the start of April, and then the fire hit, destroying everything we had documented in the video. However, we knew we had to still share it, so that everyone could see the Distillery in all its glory. We hope you love the video as much as we do, take a look at it below if you haven’t already seen it!
Moving onto this week, and Tuesday marked the first day of ‘the big clean-up’! As emotional as it is for us to see all our hard work at the distillery be destroyed, it’s the next step for us to take towards moving on from the distillery to BIGGER AND BETTER things!! The team have been working exceptionally hard to work through any orders we had when the fire hit us, and so far, we haven’t not been able to fulfil any orders, which we are so proud of (thanks team for all of your incredibly hard work)!
So, what’s next?
In terms of our next move, myself and Cathy have been looking at new premises, where the whole team can work from and so that we can get back to distilling in-house again. Our Head Distiller is still out on the road visiting different distilleries daily to re-distil our gin – so worry not our gin is still crafted by the same people, using the same ingredients and using the same methods. Also, our team have already been working on the next Masons edition, but we can’t share too much yet so it’s just our secret for now.
