Summer is coming!

Summer is coming!

Afternoon all,

Well we’ve had another few weeks of making progress here at Masons.. Last week was the week that the remaining debris was cleared from the old distillery following the fire – an emotional time for everyone but we can now put it to the back of our minds and move onwards and upwards. Our temporary premises are already at maximum capacity and we have had to source 2 containers to store stock – space really is our worst enemy right now but the team have been working around it to best utilise what space we have available.

As we head towards the start of Summer, things at Masons are only getting busier.. The past few weeks have consisted of opening our ‘Gin Garden’ at the Birmingham Hippodrome to celebrate the launch of the Calendar Girls production. Our Events team have been busy at events across Yorkshire, Marketing and our Masons Brand Ambassadors have been working on a special event to celebrate World Gin Day and our 6th Birthday and did we mention we had won another 3 gold awards at the Stuttgart International Spirits Competition?!

Moving on to what’s been happening at the office and myself and Cathy spent some time with the lovely people from The Ice Company filming something exciting last week. This all came about as we have been working with them on ‘The Little Book of Gin’ which launched last week. The book includes some of our favourite Masons cocktail recipes and there is also an exclusive recipe created by influencer ‘Gin Monkey’ – Trust me it’s absolutely delicious!

To celebrate the launch, we are giving away 20 copies on our Facebook page, so head across there now to be in with a chance of picking up your own copy! (Competition ends 06.06.2019)

So what does June have in-store for us? Well other than more events, we also have our gin trail which will be starting on the 1st June and running until the 9th June. The event will be taking place in York, Leeds, Sheffield and Teesside, and we are working with 10 amazing bars in each city. The gin trail is something we have never done before, however we wanted to do something a little different this year to celebrate World Gin Day and our 6th Birthday! (For all of the details head to our event on Facebook and start planning your gin trail today).

We’re also taking the team to Camphill in Bedale on Sunday for a team day out. We really just wanted to say thank you to the team for all of their hard work and efforts and spend some time together outside of work.

Thanks to the great team over at Bedale Golf Club, they brought over The Original Gin & Orange infused cheesecakes to keep the team in good spirits on Friday, just in time for G&T Friday!

Well, to end this journal entry on some final positive news, and we are excited to announce that our 20cl and 5cl have finally been back in production this week (thanks to our fantastic team who have been working extended hours to get them bottled). We are also thrilled to share that our Peppered Pear Edition is now available in a 20cl bottle – so keep your eyes peeled for this at our events!

I think that’s enough to celebrate with a Masons cocktail this evening, tonight myself and Cathy will be serving up a ‘Peppered Pear 75’.
