The new be’GIN’ning
Hi everyone,
It’s been another busy couple of weeks for the Masons team with all hands-on deck! It’s now been just over 3 weeks since the fire, and we are continuing to make huge progress! On Tuesday 23rd we shared with the world that we were back to bottling and labelling in-house again.. Hooray! As we lost everything in the fire we have had to re-source all new equipment, and it’s pretty tough manual work – Sorry team! It is considerably slower than our previous bottling line, as it requires more care and attention, with quality checks every 15 minutes and each label is applied by hand and must line up perfectly. We really are lucky to have such a great team behind us, who are passionate about making the best products possible.
We also have our Head Distiller, Luke, distilling at different sites to ensure the quality of the gin is upheld... So, worry not gin lovers, Masons won’t be tasting any different! When working on a contingency plan it was important to myself, Cathy and the team that we still had a strong hold on the distilling process, to ensure the same high-quality gin was produced! Here you will see Luke distilling our award-winning Tea Edition gin and all of the botanicals that go into making it taste so great!
Finally, to top the week off, we launched a HUGE billboard in Central Leeds! Keep your eyes peeled for our giant bottle of Masons Original and make sure you tag us in any pictures when you spot it for your chance to be featured!
Heading into next week we have another hectic week planned for the team.. We’re due to distill plenty more Masons and we have the Tour De Yorkshire coming through Bedale right outside our new office space! The team are incredibly excited for the event as we’re going to be getting involved with our famous Masons Gin bar (of course)! Check back in soon for more updates on how it all goes..
