Keeping our Gin Up
After what has been a whirlwind of a year, we are thrilled to finally announce that we will soon be moving into our own custom-built distillery, still only a stones throw away from the heart of Bedale. It comes as no surprise that re-creating a new distillery from scratch, whilst keeping everything running in the background has been a challenge! The main thing throughout all of this is that we keep on creating gin with love and care which, thanks to support from our staff, community and industry colleagues, we have been able to do. We are now weeks away from firing up our beautiful new copper still, meaning we can get back to creating our award-winning gin in-house again. It’s something that we have been working on since the day of the fire back in April, so we are thrilled to see an end in sight for things to get back to normal.
Check out our progress so far:
Since the fire, our hard-working team have been based here there and everywhere. We’ve had our Head Distiller travelling up and down the country distilling gin, our production team have been based in a small unit where they hand bottle and label the bottles, and office staff have been based at Bedale Hall with Mouse the dog for company. We’ve essentially done a full circle back to where we started! We really can’t wait to have everyone back working together under the same roof again and it goes without saying that we’re endlessly grateful for all our staff, the continued optimism and everyone who has helped, and continues to help every day.
Despite having a major setback this year, we have seized this experience as an opportunity. Building a new distillery has given us the opportunity to not only create a space that works for us from a production side, but also a creative space where we can give people a look into the behind the scenes at Masons (but that’s all we’re telling you for now – watch this space!).
